Small businesses — restaurants, dentists, beauty salons, repair shops — need an online presence but don’t have the time, budget, or technical knowledge to build and maintain a website. Most end up with nothing, or an outdated Facebook page.
The Problem
Local businesses in Serbia need a professional online presence but face two common barriers: upfront development costs and ongoing maintenance they can’t handle themselves. A one-time website build doesn’t solve the problem if the business can’t update it when hours change, services expand, or photos need refreshing.
What It Does
e-vizit is a subscription-based marketing site service. For a monthly fee, a business gets a professionally built single-page site on a subdomain (name.e-vizit.com), hosted, SSL-secured, and maintained. The client sends their content — we build and update it.
Two tiers:
- Basic (1,800 RSD/month) — single page, up to 10 images, 1 content change included monthly
- Start (2,500 RSD/month) — multi-page, unlimited images and changes, priority support
The minimum commitment is 3 months prepaid, then month-to-month.
Architecture
Each client site is built with Astro 5 as a static export on a subdomain. The main marketing site at e-vizit.com uses React islands for interactive components — scroll reveal animations via Framer Motion. Bilingual (Serbian/Hungarian) via a custom i18n layer with localized routes under src/pages/hu/.
No CMS, no dynamic backend — content changes are handled manually, which keeps costs near zero and performance close to perfect.
What Didn’t Work
The service never gained traction despite Facebook ad campaigns. The core problem was distribution — reaching small local businesses through digital advertising doesn’t work well when the target audience isn’t actively searching for web solutions. The product and pricing were solid, but the go-to-market approach needed to be direct sales rather than paid social.
The project is still live and the infrastructure is maintained, but active acquisition has been paused.
